Newcastle Woolsington Airport (NCL)
Comment / Seconds after lifting off from runway 25 en route to Alicante, with the dip in Newcastle's runway clearly visible! The strip is currently only 2329m long, although recent reports suggest that advanced plans are currently under consideration for an extension of 360m to the 25 end.
British Airways
Airbus A320-211
G-BUSH (cn 042)
26th May 2007
Newcastle Woolsington Airport (NCL)
Comment / One in, one out. BA chopped their Gatwick route at the end of the last winter season, leaving just the Shuttle service to Heathrow as their only presence at Newcastle. Here, as an A320 service from Heathrow arrives, Boeing 757 G-BPEK lines up in the background for a departure back to London.

She is now approaching 19th years of age, after entering service with the British charter carrier, Monarch Airlines, in October 1998 as G-MONP.

26th May 2007
Newcastle Woolsington Airport (NCL)
Comment / bmi regional's ERJ-135 G-RJXJ was in the circuit all day at Newcastle on Saturday. She made for the best photos as a result, rotating much further down the runway than other aircraft.

Boeing 737-59D
G-BVKD (cn 26421/2279)
4th April 2007
Manchester Ringway Airport (MAN)
Comment / You don't seem to hear much from bmi baby HQ these days. Nevertheless, they are still going strong in the Midlands, with a fair number of Boeing 737s based at Manchester. Series -500 G-BVKD is the ex. Visit Wales liveried aircraft, and now flies in the standard bmi baby colours as Ice Ice Baby.
Flybe

G-JECL (cn 4114)
4th April 2007

Comment / G-JECL is christened The George Best after the late footballer who died last year - although sadly this is only apparent if viewed from the other side! Here she is making a dawn landing on 06R.

Comment / G-XLAG's nose wheel just starts to lift away from the tarmac after quite a lengthy take off run.
