Comment / I remember that just before I took this photo, I remarked how religious CSA were with sending their 737-500s into Stansted. Sure enough, this series -400 was the next one in! OK-WGX has long been a familiar sight over London's skies - for 12 years from 1992 she served with British Airways as G-DOCI.

Comment / As well as flying on the tail of Norwegian Air Shuttle's LN-KKP, did you know that a portrait of the famous Norwegian opera singer Kirsten Flagstad also appears on the 100 kroner bill?

Comment / Stansted-based Titan Airways continues to grow, with plans to have five Boeing 737s online for the 2007 summer season. Series -33A, G-ZAPM, was the first Boeing to enter service with the airline in 1999, and was recently repainted into the carrier's smart new black and white scheme.

Comment / For photo #1000 I thought it would be great to dig out something a little more rare…

Comment / This A340 stayed at Stansted for a couple of days during July 2006. Now a VIP toy for Kingdom Holdings of Saudi Arabia, she previously flew with the Brunei Sultan's Flight as V8-JBB.

N777AS (cn 29271/174)
18th July 2006

Comment / After landing on runway 05 and then back tracking all the way down the parallel taxiway, N777AS crosses the 05 threshold again enroute to the busy business aviation terminal at Stansted.

Comment / Lockheed Tristar G-IOIT has been on the ground at Stansted since the collapse of Classic Airways, a short-lived charter carrier based at the airfield during the late 1990s. Classic managed to operate another Tristar, G-IOII, in a smart green and white colour scheme , but this one never made it - British World Airlines pulled the plug on their AOC due to worrying technical problems with the ageing Tristars in August 1998. Both aircraft were grounded indefinitely at Stansted as a result; G-IOII was scrapped on site during 2000, but G-IOIT soldiers on to this day as the BAA airport tug trainer.
