Comment / You don't often see lighting conditions as good as this! G-BUSK arrives on runway 25 from London Heathrow. Unlike some of her older A320 colleagues in the BA fleet, Sierra Kilo has almost another year left in service to look forward to, with her retirement not due until September 2008.

Comment / XL Airways have again leased a Finnair Boeing 757 for their Newcastle ops this summer. Two aircraft have passed through, with OH-LBS, seen here, completing the second half of the contract. Recently retrofitted with winglets, she has retained a basic Finnair scheme, with XL.com titles.

Comment / Jet2 have really ramped up their Newcastle base during 2007, with two 737s and two 757s stationed during the summer season. Boeing 737-377 G-CELX has been around of late, and is seen here arriving in bright sunshine on one of the airline's thrice daily rotations from London Gatwick.

Comment / After some four years on lease to Flyglobespan, G-CELR returned to service with Jet2 during the spring earlier this year. She was originally delivered to Channel Express in 2001, but was assigned to Flyglobespan in the spring of 2003 as one of the new carrier's launch aircraft. It seems Jet2 are yet to find time for her to visit the paint shop - she's still flying in a basic Flyglobespan scheme with Jet2 titles.

Comment / This easyJet Boeing 737 is named in memory of a young pilot, Daniel Swaddle, who died aged 17. After qualifying with a Private Pilot's License at the Newcastle Aero Club, he had aspirations of flying for easyJet, but sadly lost his life in tragic circumstances to a brain tumor in 2004.

Comment / Thomsonfly recruited G-THOO early on this year, and has been a regular at Newcastle since. She is a comparatively young 737 Classic series, delivered to easyJet as G-EZYK in 1998, before joining SkyEurope as HA-LKT in 2005. I've now photographed her in all three identities… follow the links!
