Comment / VP-BQC operated a series of supporter shuttles between St Petersburg and Manchester for the UEFA Cup Final at the City of Manchester stadium. She is no stranger to UK shores having previously flown with Virgin Atlantic as G-VPUF, and before that as ZK-NZY with Air New Zealand.

14th May 2008
Manchester Ringway Airport (MAN)
Comment / Rossiya Airlines was formed in 2006 as a result of a merger between Pulkovo Airlines and the Russia State Transport Company, and is wholly owned by the Russian government. Rossiya operates a variety of scheduled and charter services, as well as operating VIP flights on behalf of the Russian state. The carrier has a growing fleet, including this single Boeing 767-300. EI-DZH was delivered in March 2008, joining from Skymark Airlines of Japan with whom it was registered JA767C.

Comment / This Boeing 767-300 has not been with Transaero Airlines long. She joined the fleet just two months ago, having flown with Gulf Air and Gulf Traveller as A4O-GS since delivery in 1992.

Comment / Although the Atlant-Soyuz fleet seems to wear a multitude of different schemes, this version is particularly smart. This Tupelov Tu-154 dates back to 1991 and is currently on her ninth operator!
Gazpromavia

14th May 2008
Manchester Ringway Airport (MAN)
Comment / Having ferried the Zenit St Petersburg football team to Manchester earlier on in the week, Gazpromavia returned on the final day itself with RA-73000. It is one of just two Boeing 737s in the airline's sizeable fleet, having joined at the end of last year from Jet Airways (ex. VT-JNP).
