Comment / Never seemingly afraid to buck the trend, Flybe have been expanding steadily at Newcastle in recent months, with numerous Q400s dropping by most days now.

Comment / G-ECOY is one of four Dash 8 Q400s that have joined Flybe on lease from Wideroe. This one is ex. LN-RDG and will remain with Flybe for around 15 months. In return, Flybe is in the process of redirecting a similar number of it's own brand new Q400s to Wideroe/SAS, who, after a spate of landing gear corrision incidents last year, wish to operate only new-build 'NextGen' examples of the Q400. Can one presume Flybe is making a tidy sum here?

Comment / G-KKEV was unveiled on 3rd July at Newcastle Airport, and named Kevin Keegan in honour of the Newcastle United Football Club manager. A large sticker of man himself in his heyday as a Newcastle player was applied to the port side, with a black nose cone added just a couple of months later after Keegan 'left' his post!
