Comment / Monarch's sole Boeing 767 soars away from the recently re-designated runway 23L at Manchester. It is a little known fact that Monarch actually ordered two Boeing 767-300s during the late 1980s, but later sold the production slots to EVA Air of Taiwan, and took on four of the (then) new Airbus A300-600Rs instead. Today, the pair of 767s fly with Aeroflot Russian Airlines as VP-BWU and VP-BWV.

Comment / Monarch's sole Boeing 767 passed through Newcastle today, returning cruise passengers back to the UK from Barbados. After 8 years serving with Airtours and MyTravel, G-DIMB joined Monarch Airlines in May 2005, and is seen here departing Newcastle on a positioning flight back to Manchester.
