Comment / After less than two hours on the ground, 9M-XAB lines up on Stansted's runway 05 in the fading evening light for the long haul back to Kuala Lumpur. The aircraft's livery features the Malaysian flag on the port winglet, and the Union Jack on the other.

Comment / 9M-XAB was built in 1999 and is an ex. Air Canada aircraft, with whom she flew as C-GDVW.

Comment / My first glimpse of Air Asia X's new A340, which had inaugurated the carrier's latest low cost intercontinental service just ten days pervious, from Kuala Lumpur to London Stansted on 11th March.
