Comment / Ethiopian Airlines have been operating sporadic cargo services through Stansted for some time now. Having almost given up on it arriving, I was pleased to finally catch one of their Boeing 757s for the first time in the milky evening light. ET-ALZ is a former TWA, American and Santa Barbara Airlines machine, built in 1999 and joining Ethiopian in 2005.

Comment / Arriving on runway 22 from Vilnius, Lithuania. LY-STG was previously D-AWOH and D-AHIB with Hamburg International Airlines.

Comment / The Swiss 458 diverts into Stansted from London City with a techinical problem. The aircraft landed safely and departed again an hour later.

Comment / D-ATUF was painted up into a Hapag-Lloyd retro scheme and fitted with 54 First Class seats in November 2008, for a series of round-the-world cruise flights. A couple of years on it's back in mainline service, visiting Stansted from time-to-time operating on behalf of Germwanwings.

Comment / With stickers on the nose promoting Germany's Ruhr region.

Comment / Diverting into Stansted from Gatwick, where a short whlie before Thomson's Boeing 757 G-BYAP suffered a bird strike and engine flame out.

Comment / Undoubtedly one of the most spectacular schemes around! Promoting the Oakland Raiders, 9M-XAC lines up on Stansted's runway 04 for take-off to Kuala Lumpur. Rumours have it that a link between Stansted and Oakland is next on Air Asia X's radar...

Comment / An appropriate registration for this Norwegian Citation Sovereign!
